This Nikon 70-300mm VR lens has received very little actual use, evidenced by the lack of wear to its mount and by its generally exceptional physical condition. It is, as far as I can determine, completely indistinguishable from new. Glass is perfect, optics clean and clear throughout; and operationally the lens is flawless: it is very sharp, with quick, consistently accurate AF and excellent VR function. Zoom and focus action are smooth and consistent throughout their ranges, as on a new lens. Be sure to view the attached photos, and please feel free to ask any questions. Nikon's 70-300mm VR is an extraordinary lens. Although it lacks the all-metal build quality of the much more expensive f/2.8 zooms or their f/2.8 max apertures, its optical performance is equal to that of the "pro" lenses. It is exceedingly sharp and produces exceptionally contrasty, vibrantly colourful images. Excellent AF performance and a versatile zoom range make it a superb lens for outdoor sports photography, but the lens also renders out-of-focus elements beautifully, making it an excellent lens for portraiture and for other still subjects as well. Any photographer who requires un-compromised image quality in a telephoto zoom but doesn't want to deal with the hassles and expense of using the pro lenses will give up very little, aside from the f/2.8 max aperture, with this lens.
